Why Liverpool won't wear their new red home kit in the Champions League final

Liverpool will wear their 2018/19 home kit against Tottenham Hotspur in the
Champions League final.
It will be red against white in Madrid as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to secure the club’s sixth European crown.
Liverpool unveiled their new 2019/20 home kit last month, which with its white pinstripes gives a nod to the Reds team that won a treble of trophies, including the European Cup, in 1984...

Many supporters were surprised the players didn't wear the new jersey for their final home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers last Sunday, as has been the case in recent seasons.
And Liverpool will stick with this season’s New Balance version for the Champions League showpiece against Tottenham Hotspur on June 1.. ..

Under UEFA rules, clubs have to state at the start of each season which kits they will use in the competition and changes cannot be made unless there has been a change of main sponsor.
The 2018/19 kit has proven the most successful in the club's history. Indeed, Liverpool announced in February they had temporarily ran out of stock for their online store, such was the demand.
As with last season ahead of the showpiece against Real Madrid, there won’t be a special Champions League final edition of the shirt available, although the current kit is still on sale in limited numbers.
